The Program for the Creative and Academically Talented was established at Handley School in 1981. It was the first gifted and talented school in the Great Lakes Bay region. Located in the City of Saginaw,
Handley School, provides the area’s creative and academically talented with an internationally recognized standard of education. Handley is an International Baccalaureate World School and has achieved recognition as a Blue Ribbon Award winner.
Year after year, Handley’s Program for the Creative and Academically Talented proves itself as one of the top elementary schools in the state.

The Handley Educational Foundation believes that all children deserve learning that emphasizes critical thinking, exploration, and creativity. We also believe in the unique needs of creative and academically talented learners. We advocate to increase awareness of these needs and provide resources and spaces to better meet these needs.
The Handley Educational Foundation was established to ensure that Handley School sustains their culture of success. The Handley Educational Foundation aims to support staff and students with uninterrupted access to best practice programs and experiences. Its focus remains on what if rather than what is.
Established in 2000, the Handley Educational Foundation, was established within the Saginaw Community Foundation. The Handley School Foundation's assets are permanently endowed and financially managed by the Saginaw Community Foundation.
Gifts made to the Handley Educational Foundation will provide a lasting legacy of support for the unique education needs of academically talented students.
